What are the social media trends to be on the look for?
Digital media platforms Hubspot and Talkwalker just released their joint social media trends report for 2022 As always, there are valuable tidbits and predications that usually come to fruition. The report focuses on the idea of the "now" consumers who seek speed, results, and an emotional connection from the brands they frequent.
Here are some of the takeaways that I got from this report:
TikTok will rule the world. This is not surprising as Ti Tok's popularity rose massively during the pandemic, making it the first non-Facebook app to reach 3 billion global downloads.
Post pandemic content is a thing. Consumers are expecting more of online content producers. Lockdowns and curfews made consuming content a pastime, so brands and influencers need to up their content game.
Cookies are dying: Social ads will fill the gap. No surprise here. Cookies, what cookies?
Social selling is here to stay. For example, Instagram introduced new shopping features that allow social media users to shop without leaving the app. I confess I bought several products through Instagram shops. It was just easy and seamless, and I didn't have to change websites.
Metaverse is gaining momentum. It's the amalgamation of the physical world, the augmented, and the virtual. Think Roblox and Fortnight married with brands.
Do you agree with these trends? Are there any trends you think we should keep an eye on?
