Thanks for the encouragement. Writing, even if not appreciated by some, is like breathing for me. I must write even if the words are only read by me.

Very nice post, and very on point. Of course artists have always struggled to put new and interesting work in front of the public. Fortunately writers who offer quality and innovation need only one “yes” and can ignore the rest, being alligators 😊

Hi Natasha. Great advice. I'm not there yet, but I know I must. I'm still in the stage (20 years deep) where I am reluctant to submit even my best work for publication to avoid the inevitable sting. Self-sabotaging? Absolutely - I'm working on it. I wish I had read this post before I wrote this post (which took me 20 years to formulate, 4 hours to write, and 1 second of courage to hit "submit" - https://beyondplatitudes.substack.com/p/the-writing-advice-i-wish-someone?r=2ldy4w

Thank you, Matt, for your honesty. I always ask myself before I publish anything or submit my work: What's the worst that can happen? Whatever happens, I can take it. What I can't take is living a life with unfulfilled dreams
